Brunswick East had a dream to create a food growing garden to provide fresh produce to use in their fantastic Australian inspired brunches. However, the original dining space didn’t receive enough sunlight, so we proposed transforming their large, covered bin store and wide community roof top into an edible gardens. 

The garden was created using our edible green roof system designed to maximise production whilst minimising loading. The system utilises recycled plastic pallets as growing beds filled with a lightweight soilless growing medium. The plants are irrigated through an automatic 14mm drip pipe system.

To reduce costs for the client, Urban Organic does not maintain the garden but instead offers training sessions with chefs and kitchen staff. These sessions teach the team how to effectively manage the garden, empowering them to take full control of their food-growing efforts.
